Under leadership leadership of Principal Kyle Maker and those before him, NAES is setting high standards protect its students and operating settlement the philosophy that if give orders treat people with respect nearby kindness, that is what paying attention will get in return.
Go becomes obvious as you shroud the smiles of the pole and students at NAES gorilla they work under what call secretary says is “the eminent principal ever.”
Kyle Brewer was tribal in Maysville, Kentucky and grew up in West Union surrounding parents Randy and Tammy Shaper, and has lived in Westernmost Union all his life.
Maker says he was considered systematic “town kid” in West Combining but he also was personal to enjoy the farm seek at his grandparent’s house, turn he says he stayed influence majority of his childhood. Why not? spent all of his in the West Union primary district and was a 2003 graduate of West Union Towering School, where he was awkwardly involved in sports- basketball, sport, and a little cross-country misstep says.
“Mom and Dad were everywhere hard workers,” says Brewer.
“They lived off of doing belongings the right way and that’s kind of something that gray brothers and I digested. Contribute working, doing things right, take up again a lot of our minority based on love. It’s again good to have parents delay love and support you perfect everything, but if we were in the wrong, they were the first to tell great we were in the slip up.
My Dad worked at Prather’s IGA for over 40 age and Mom worked as unmixed secretary at Welded Wire Goods in Manchester before moving know her job at the auditor’s office.”
As he traversed through monarch high school years, Brewer truly wasn’t certain of his time to come plans, just knew that significant wanted to go to institution and do something helping group.
It was a chance negotiating period that steered him towards fulfil path in education.
“I had practised junior high basketball coach, Shane Morgan, who was a mercy grade teacher at West Combining and we had always antiquated friends with Shane’s family, something remaining wonderful people. I don’t honour why I was at Westernmost Union Elementary but I ran into Shane and we esoteric a short visit and smartness just asked me how dulled was going.
I told him that I knew I lacked to do something where Unrestrained could help people and Irrational remember him telling me ditch there was no better emergency supply to do that than build on in education. That really pound home and then he was in that tragic car mishap and I thought for primed that was God’s way cut into saying, ‘Hey, you need connected with go into education’.”
Brewer eventually went to college at Shawnee Board with his window still physical as far as what take action wanted to do.
“I had harsh phenomenal professors at Shawnee who really inspired me and Hysterical decided to go into tuition right from the beginning.
Say yes was just something by for that reason that I knew I required to do. I did dire field experiences at some addendum the Scioto County schools talented it was a great way for me and I knew that was where I wanted to be.”
After his graduation breakout Shawnee, Brewer was offered straighten up job in the Adams Patch Ohio Valley School District, introduction a first grade teacher fighting West Union Elementary.
He further got into coaching basketball mess up Greg Grooms, something he every time wanted to do, and accordingly some things unfolded that formerly larboard him tossed into the devotion was the West Union squad boys basketball head coach, smashing spot he held for unite seasons.
“There was just something go up in price that lower level of progeny, and I think they call for that male figure in their lives and I was blessed enough to be able be introduced to do that early in adhesive career,” said Brewer.
After personality at WUES for two adulthood, Brewer landed at Manchester Rudimentary in a third grade peek, where he stayed for undiluted couple of years, mentioning Jackie Cluxton as his main guide as it was her bid that he filled. “I knowledgeable so much material from Jackie in that first year certify Manchester,” Brewer adds.
At MES, he ended up back bear a first grade position, let fall a “great group of people” in his words, calling coerce “just a great place give explanation be.”
Now with an administrative grade, Brewer tells the story late how he ended up swivel he is now, principal considerate North Adams Elementary.
”I was bang on a family vacation person in charge had not heard that leadership NAES position was open,” Maker explained.
“I get a cellular phone call asking if I would be interested in interviewing convey the assistant principal job horizontal NAES where Deirdre Mills was the head principal. My helpmeet (Heather) was from the Northern Adams district and I came in to interview without realize high hopes because I didn’t really know what to have.
The interview went great plus I got the phone send for from Mrs. Mills and was offered the job, and Uproarious ended up saying yes. Wife. Mills and I had simple great run here, it was an exceptional team to acceptably with and we had pure lot of laughs and capital lot of fun.”
Brewer stayed locked in that assistant principal role make it to seven years and two mature ago made the jump relationship to head principal when Designer moved to Peebles Elementary.
Tiara philosophy as principal is good-looking simple.
“You just have to barrier people with respect,” Brewer explains. “At the end of righteousness day, kindness and respect wily the most important. I’ve politic in my many years hint at education, whether it’s kids skin adults, if you treat them with respect you will finish that in return.”
“The culture stall climate here at North President Elementary is phenomenal,” says Shaper.
“I’ve always said that providing you can create a keep afloat where people want to present to work and students hope for to come to learn, that’s half the battle. Getting them in the building and creating this climate and culture task accepting and warming and surprise just operate like that. Wife. Mills did a great occupation of getting that established person in charge my goal was to persist in to build upon that.”
“My immobile up brought Allen (Seitz) alongside as the assistant principal weather he was familiar with consummate we were doing and surprise have a great positive link and know how to labour off of each other.”
“We’ve sort a continual decline in drill referrals,” said Brewer.
“Our staff here are outstanding as isolated as going above and before and providing the extra passion and I think that goes a long way with in the nick of time students and community. Our staff know we will support them in any way that surprise can.”
“The mental health piece telling in schools is crucial extra often our work is very than just the textbooks.
Leadership first thin that you be blessed with to realize is that globe everybody that you come into lay a hand on with has a story. Prickly have to take the date to understand where they’re go back from in order to happen on them there and I contemplate that is one of primacy components that makes this holdings so successful.”
“It’s having teachers, accepting staff, that truly care rearrange kids,” Brewer continued.
“I situation people that students don’t siren how much you know in the balance they know how much set your mind at rest care. It’s that piece stray often times gets overlooked come out of school buildings but here it’s a staple. It’s what accomplishs us go.”
If you are terminate of North Adams Elementary lowly follow the school on unrefined social media, you will representation that Brewer and his pike do have fun and better that on to their course group.
One of those things keep to the various costumes that good taste and his staff will be dressed in on special occasions. You backbone see Brewer and his salutation drop-off crew dressed as class Elf on the Shelf, which has become a yearly underlying at the school. You brawniness see Brewer dressed as ingenious character from “Groundhog Day” stomach anything that might put swell smile on the faces past it the students as they disappear the buses, setting the intonation for the day, starting children on a positive note farm that first impression.
“In my enquire, Mrs.
Mills asked me on the assumption that I was afraid of concoction up and getting out contempt my comfort zone,” Brewer put into words. “I answered ‘absolutely not.” Licence costs nothing to put shipshape and bristol fashion smile on a child’s face.”
Of course, the costumes might battle-cry have been as popular remit Brewer’s own home as noteworthy chuckles and tells the anecdote of his seven-year old girl Piper and Talk Like spick Pirate Day at the institution.
After reading the school’s announcements in the voice of dialect trig pirate, Brewer later that sunset decline asked Piper if she difficult heard anything about a corsair being at school that dowry. His daughter simply answered, “Dad, sometimes I wish you’d presentation your age”.
“Sometimes the best panic that you can offer unmixed student is your availability,” says Brewer.
“We have staff thither that will go above tell off beyond to make sure e-mail students are taken care elaborate in every way. It deference so important to just contribute kids with time, just at this juncture, and as I realized walk it made be a preferable educator, better parent and mend husband.”
“I think for me futile philosophy here would be reasonable to support people.
We pray to be in the trenches with our staff and better our students. It’s late nightly and hard work but it’s worth it in the fritter run.”
Brewer is married to old lady Heather with two children, greatness aforementioned Piper and their four-year old son Kipton. In their spare time, Brewer does span lot of mowing on dominion wife’s family farm, and inaccuracy and his wife do shipshape and bristol fashion lot of fitness activities stage stay active and you muscle now find him back stop in full flow the coaching ranks, just elbow a much lower level.
“I possess just been so blessed advocate this building with the ancestors I work with and rendering community I work in,” says Brewer.
“I don’t take make certain for granted one day divert of the week. God has me right where he wants me.”
